There are around 3.5 million mango trees of different ages on around 23,000 hectares of land in the Rajshahi region. The number of growing mango trees has been increasing in this region for the last couple of years. The mango market is very potential market for fertilizer business and it is growing significantly. ACI Fertilizer organized a daylong seminar on mango resource development on February 11, 2017 at Sadar, Chapai Nawabganj. It was inaugurated by Professor Muhammad Mizanuddin, Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University as chief guest. The seminar was further enriched by the guest of honor Dr. F H Ansarey, Executive Director of ACI Agribusiness.
Along with others Dr. Md. Amzad Hossain, Director, Training and Communication of BARI, Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, Former Director of DAE, Khamarbari, Dhaka and Kbd. Md. Monzurul Huda, Assistant Director, DAE of Chapai Nawabganj were present as special guest.
They have shared that researchers and extension personnel help to farmers with more practical approaches which aim to massive cultivation of both exotic and locally developed alternate bearing varieties in the country. Speakers also talked on the process of export mango to others country as well. Dr. Md. Hamim Reza preside in the first session and Md. Mahmudul Hasan, District Administrator of Chapai Nawabganj preside in the second session of the program.
