There are total amount of Mungbeans /Green Gram production is about 2 lac hectre in Bangladesh where 2.25 lac MT was total production. So, it was 1.10 MT/Hectre. (Year Book of Agricultural Statistics-2017). The production has been increasing gradually since last few years. Though farmers were used imbalance fertilizer earlier but nowadays they have started input organic, bio fertilizer and micronuitrient to land. To introduce and promote products to mungbean farmers as well as stakeholders, ACI Fertilizer attended at Patuakhali Mungbean Fair 2017 which was held on Sunday, 23 April 2017 at Gymnasium, Patuakhali Sadar. The objective of the Patuakhali Mungbean Fair 2017 is to establish a geographical branding for Mungbean of Patuakhali. Patuakhali is rich in Mung bean production and supplied all over the country. To recognize this crops abundant production and create a brand for its local traders is a significant aim of implementing this event. The team ACI Fertilizer were tried to show the way to give input micronutrient and balance fertilizer to land.
The daylong fair was inaugurated by Mr. A K M Shamimul Haque Siddiki, DC, Patuakhali. He present there as chief guest while Mr. Shahid Uddin Akbar was also present as welcome speaker. Apart from this, Mr. Bashir Ahmed, Business Director of ACI Fertilizer, SME Club mentors Md. Abdur Razak and Md. Kabir Sikder, PCCI President Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed were also present in the session. Representatives from mung bean businesses (various level, within and outside Patuakhali), trade bodies, Government, Business Specialists, Policy-makers, Financial institutes INGO’s, NOG’s, Private sectors from input and output markets of Mungbean joined the Patuakhali Mungbean 2017. It helped to ACI Fertilizer to these stakeholders directly as well as widely. The daylong fair further enriched by video showcasing, networking session with bank/MFI representatives, SME club members, local agribusiness man, farmers.
Incidentally, SME Club of by Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) and Patuakhali Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) jointly organized the event with assistance of the DC’s office, Patuakhali and Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE). The activities organized in collaboration with various partners including private sector partners including input companies namely ACI Fertilizer, Financial Institutions, Insurance Companies, potential buyers (Traders, Processors etc.) and service providers. ACI Fertilizer played a vital role to make the fair succeed.
